The t-mac system received a SMART award for innovation in
November 2002 from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTi), which provided
the company with a £75,000 grant to begin development of the t-mac device.
The t-macENERGY system, a customised version of t-mac to monitor ENERGY use, is
accredited by the Carbon Trust and included on its Energy
Technology List. The Carbon Trust is a UK government organisation
that advises business and the public sector on how to cut carbon emissions and
reduce the impact of climate change.
t-macENERGY, received inclusion on the Energy Technology List for its ability to
act as a remote data logging tool for businesses to enable them to identify
opportunities to reduce unnecessary energy use. Using the device can also help
businesses comply with government regulations to prove that their energy use
falls within acceptable guidelines and in addition, provide the required
10-year history log of energy use.
The Carbon Trust accreditation allows for UK companies investing in the t-mac
system to apply for 100% capital allowance during their first
year in investment.
